In a perfect world the concept of day to night outfits would not exist and we all would have time to space out our work hours and personal fun nights out. I mean I would so love to come home after work, hang out with family, then take my time to get dressed and go out. In reality, though, by the time I get back home from work (exhausted!), take care of things at home (double exhausted!!), I am late to the fun part of my day and don’t have time to get dressed. So on the days when I have evening plans, while I’m in the shower at 5AM, I go over my schedule, and also plan what to wear. I think of easy versatile pieces that can look professional and can also be dressed up with accessories. Dresses always are a good option because they look great at work if worn with blazers, and they look great at night if worn with heels.
This time I wore this Aqua casual shirt dress. I love it for its rich fall colors and relaxed silhouette ~ I never have to worry about sucking in my stomach in this dress! The white blazer made this dress perfect for work (inspite of the dress’ uneven, longer in the back hemline), while the over-the-knee suede boots make it fun for a night out. I am not a big jewelry girl, but if you are, adding a statement jewelry to a night out look works great.
What are your go-to day to night outfits? Would so love to hear from you!!
