I love that women’s work outfits become bolder and more interesting every day, and I am so excited that today’s star of the work outfit of the day is the faux leather pencil skirt! More and more women get rid of boring, curve hiding, soul suffocating suits (you can tell I am not a fan!), and embrace curve accentuating silhouettes, bold colors and fabrics, and an array of styles. When it comes to skirts, there is a great mix of tube, pleated, and pencil skirts, that enter the world of women’s work outfits.
Any woman can rock a leather pencil skirt, and there are many ways you can pair such skirt with ~ Any pretty blouse or top should work well if you need to soften the sex appeal of the pencil skirt.
If you feel daring and ready for all eyes to be on you, you can pair the leather pencil skirt with a simple classic button-down. I love wearing this skirt with nude pumps which elongate my legs and allow the outfit to stand out.
If you add a blazer to the classic button-down and leather pencil skirt outfit, then you’ll show you mean business. The blazer tones down the edginess appeal of the leather so your co-workers can concentrate on business hehe.
Finally, I thought to pair my faux leather pencil skirt with my blue classic button-down and a my wintery fair-isle sweater. This is my casual work day look. I love how the button-down makes the odd combo of leather and fair-isle print work somehow ~ it’s cozy and edgy at the same time.
