To be honest, preaching work life balance can become tough when kids get sick, workload piles up, and stubborn house chores don’t go away. It usually takes me a few days to realize that I am loosing control over my time and my peace, and then I make it worse by ignoring the signs as if they could going to go away on their own. Am I intentionally sabotaging myself?! I mean, I know better, and I know it’s better to get back on the work life balance track sooner rather than later! But of course, it is only when I start waking up hours before my 5AM alarm rings, that I start paying attention… So I cut down the to do list to the minimum and redo my schedule to include some down times.
Meanwhile, as I go through a transition, and feel absolutely exhausted, I do my best to stay active and continue dressing up as I usually do. Nothing too fancy, but classic with some element of fun. The trick behind it is getting into a ‘looking good, feeling good’ mode.
This outfit can easily go from day to night (just switch the handbag!). It follows my typical formula ~ simple basics with an element of surprise, whether it is a bright color, or unusual silhouette, or a statement accessory.
